Star Wars has been a huge science fiction franchise ever since the first movie hit theaters in 1977. The original Star Wars trilogy is iconic, and fans have lapped up the toys, games, and extended media based on the series for decades now. However, the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, changed people's perception of this beloved trilogy when he launched the prequel movies in 1999.
