The Hueco Mundo inhabitants have been the thorns in the Shinigami sides for centuries as the wandering spirits who cause chaos in the Living World and Seireitei by filling their bottomless voids with innocent souls. Essentially trapped in purgatory, the Hollow can theoretically exist for all eternity and have, therefore, established a hierarchy of power to keep things ever-so-slightly orderly in the afterlife of Bleach.
