Microsoft has announced a new disc-less Xbox Series X console called the Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition. It has pretty much the same design as the original Xbox Series X console, but there is no disc drive for you to play your physical games. Even though all Xbox console games, regardless of being on a disc or a digital download, need to be installed on the internal storage, the disc-less Xbox Series X completely eliminates the use of a physical disc. You will definitely need an SSD to expand the total storage and get all your games installed for easy access.
