JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is known for its stand abilities, among many other things. Stands were introduced in Stardust Crusaders, after Hamon was phased out, and are described as a manifestation of a person's life energy or fighting spirit. Many stands are incredibly powerful, making their users invicible against most foes. However, much like how an individual's life choices can lead them to an early grave, so too can their stand abilities.
