According to a recent rumor, the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is doing away with the old male and female titled options, opting for a different system based on appearance. After years of no news, the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake finally got a spotlight shone on the game during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct. It was featured in a brand-new trailer that showed off a number of classic gameplay elements and how they had been re-imagined to fit Team Asano's HD-2D art style. Remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 were also confirmed to be in development, launching in 2025 after Dragon Quest 3's November 2024 release.
