Minecraft Dungeons' next expansion, Hidden Depths, releases a launch trailer showing off new mobs and areas, is available now.

The latest major update to Minecraft Dungeons is here, and fans can finally experience the Hidden Depths expansion for themselves. Alongside the release of this highly anticipated content, Mojang Studios has released a new launch trailer that shows off what fans can expect from the DLC. In the short trailer, players get a glimpse at some of the underwater areas they will be exploring, as well as new enemies, artifacts, and equipment. There are also some very interesting physics at play that will surely spice up combat underwater.

When Minecraft Dungeons first released, players only had access to the main story. This was fairly extensive, but it was clear that fans were hungry for more. After that, the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter DLCs expanded the game by adding new biomes, features, and enemies. Since then, Howling Peaks and Flames of the Nether have taken players as high and as low as they could go.

Hidden Depths takes players underwater, and is the second of four DLCs to be included on Minecraft Dungeons' second season pass. These underwater levels are unique in that they are far more three dimensional, allowing players to drop down far heights without taking fall damage. There are also new underwater themed mobs, including Drowned and Guardians from Minecraft but also showing off some new faces as well. Of note, there seems to be some kind of underwater variant of the standard Slime enemy, and on the non-hostile side of things there are now Sea Turtles and Pufferfish.

The trailer above also shows off some new items, starting with the Eye of the Guardian. This artifact fires a powerful beam of energy much like that of the Corrupted Beacon, but instead of costing Souls it locks the player in place. It also seems much harder to turn with in the trailer. For weapons, players are shown the anchor, a very slow but incredibly powerful weapon that deals damage in a large AoE. Finally, although not explicitly shown, players do also get a glimpse at a new unique armor, the Nimble Turtle Armor. Its innate skill boosts the player's speed when they are hit, which will likely also be a new enchantment available on other armors.

As the full DLC is available now, players are free to dive in whenever they like. With new missions available in all of the game's existing levels, there is surely no shortage of things to do. Players can probably also try to get gilded variants of all the new items in order to reach an entirely new level of power.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
