The original BioShock was a massive success at the time of its release, launching to widespread critical acclaim and often pointed to as one of the absolute best games of all time. 2K capitalized on BioShock's popularity with BioShock 2, a sequel that still earned a great deal of praise even if many believed it fell short of the original.
