The Madden NFL franchise is one of the longest-running powerhouses in the sports genre of the gaming industry, with its roots stretching back to the mid-1990s. It's become tradition for the next iteration in the series to launch about two weeks before the start of a new season, as EA looks to take advantage of fresh fan optimism about their teams potentially winning the prestigious Super Bowl.
