Final Fantasy 14 is a huge MMORPG that caters to every player's desire to express themselves. Fans can do a variety of things, from decorating their own virtual home to playing their favorite songs using a complex in-game performance feature. One of the newest additions in Patch 5.55 of Final Fantasy 14 is an electric guitar, which players can use to play a whole new variety of tunes. The electric guitar is even usable as a housing item, adding an aura of pure coolness to any home. This quick guide will explain exactly how to get the new electric guitar item.
An electric guitar may seem out of place in the fantastical world of Final Fantasy 14. But dedicated fans who watched the digital Fan Fest event in early May know why this item is suddenly appearing in-game. The notorious composer Masayoshi Soken announced during the event that Final Fantasy 14 was collaborating with the famous guitar manufacturer Fender to produce a line of unique guitars featuring a Final Fantasy 14 motif. The guitar was designed according to Soken's own requests, and all can agree that the dedicated man who continued working while hospitalized with cancer certainly deserves the best. For those who can't afford the extravagant real-world guitar, the same guitar now exists within Final Fantasy 14 as a digital item.

The electric guitar, known as an Aetherolectric Guitar in Final Fantasy 14, is obtainable from the Gold Saucer Prize Claim NPC. As with any item sold in the massive mini-game hub, the Aetherolectric Guitar is purchased using MGP. This unique currency can be earned by participating in games around the Gold Saucer, including Triple Triad, Chocobo racing, or other whimsical activities. For only 3,000 MGP, the Aetherolectric Guitar is actually very cheap. For those who don't quite have enough saved up, though, an MGP farming guide will explain how to accumulate plenty of currency in no time.
As a housing item, anyone who is fortunate enough to have claimed their own personal estate can put the Aetherolectric Guitar on display in their home. It's also possible to use it in an apartment room or a private room within a Free Company estate. Unfortunately, there is very little purpose to purchase the guitar for anyone who is not interested in owning a private home or room. For players who want to own a home but have not been able to secure a plot, there are always plans for more housing to be added over time.
Of course, the Aetherolectric Guitar does not exist only as a housing item. Any player with a dedication to the Bard job can learn how to perform with a number of instruments. As of Patch 5.55, it is now possible to perform with an electric guitar based on the real-world Fender born from the Final Fantasy 14 collaboration. Musically-inclined players will be able to rock out and recreate some of their favorite songs within the realm of Eorzea.
Final Fantasy 14 is available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
