In Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, the entire system of leveling-up Nor, and upgrading her gear, is built upon quickly earning Reputation. Reputation is Flintlock's XP, as well as its main currency. Nearly every improvement you can make to Nor will be paid for at least partially with Reputation.
