Twisters is not a sequel to the 1996 original film and it is not a reboot either unlike some other notably legacy releases. This one follows Kate, a budding meteorologist interested in tornadoes. When research on a particular trip goes bad, she retreats for five years until suddenly being pulled back into the game.
