Resident Evil is barreling ahead into its next era. After last year's excellent Resident Evil 4 Remake, there were some widespread rumors and fan theories about what would come next for Capcom's survival horror staple. Assumptions were that the studio would continue its prior pattern of the next numbered remake and major entry. This seems to not be the case, though, as prominent leaks suggest remakes of Resident Evil 0 and CODE: Veronica will be the next projects. However, the ninth Resident Evil entry was recently officially confirmed to be in early development as well.
