Flying-type Pokemon are useful at the start of anyone's Pokemon journey, and in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, you'll likely need one for the second gym. There are a handful of early-game Flying-type that you can catch, such as Starly, but then there are Pokemon such as Chatot. Like Starly, Chatot is a Normal/Flying-type. Unfortunately, you won't be able to catch the Music Note Pokemon until you're on your way to get the last gym badge. If you're aiming to catch every Pokemon in the Sinnoh or National Pokedex, then you'll eventually need to add Chatot to your PC Box. In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, there are three ways to get Chatot without having to trade online.
