Looking back on the last few years, Battlefield 2042's legacy is still a mixed one. Hitting store shelves in 2021, Battlefield 2042 was met with an infamously poor reception from both fans and critics alike, with many criticizing the game's Specialist system, its overly large maps, and its wealth of technical issues at launch. But over time, Battlefield 2042 became much more of the game fans wanted it to be, with its seasonal approach adding plenty of new content to the game for no additional cost.
