Russian chess player Amina Abakarova has been suspended from competition following allegations that she attempted to poison an opponent during a regional competition in the Russian Republic of Dagestan. Abakarova was reportedly filmed tampering with game pieces and tainting a chessboard with mercury, a toxic substance.
