Cross Guild is one of the new emerging pirate threats in One Piece. While their exact role in the final saga, as well as whether they will directly take on the Straw Hats, remains to be seen, they are now considered one of the four pirate crews, whose captain has the distinction of "Emperor." They are considered a significant threat to the World Government, as a mercenary guild who has the power to put bounties on members of the Marines. This crew originated as Crocodile's idea, and he then contacted Dracule Mihawk, the world's strongest swordsman, to aid him in the creation of it. He also notified Buggy of the debt he incurred towards him, which he needed back to aid in funding.
