FromSoftware is best known for its Soulslike games: Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring all sit on the Mount Rushmore of action RPGs, helping to cement the studio as one of the most exciting companies in gaming. But before any of these smash-hit IP was Armored Core, a mecha franchise that has little in common with the dark fantasy that FromSoftware would eventually be defined by. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon woke the series out of its slumber last year, to triumphant results.
