Dead by Daylight came out of the gate swinging with its strong gameplay premise. Though asymmetrical multiplayer games had been attempted before, Dead by Daylight's 1 Killer vs 4 Survivors system felt like a natural fit for the horror genre, being a highly accessible experience, but offering plenty of room for more complex mechanics and strategies in the future. Eight years later, Dead by Daylight offers more than enough complexity, with 43 Survivors and 36 Killers currently in the game, each one with its own set of unique Perks and abilities that can drastically affect gameplay.
