With Dead by Daylight's Resident Evil crossover arriving in less than a couple of weeks, Behaviour Interactive shares Nemesis' special perks.

As part of the Resident Evil franchise's 25th anniversary celebrations, Dead by Daylight is receiving crossover content in less than a couple of weeks on June 15th. Not only will be there be a stage based on the Raccoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 2, but series regulars Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will be playable survivors. But perhaps the most exciting addition is the opportunity for players to take control of Nemesis, the iconic monster from Resident Evil 3, famous for relentlessly pursuing Jill no matter where she goes.

With Nemesis arguably being the biggest inclusion, Thomas Carpentier, associate brand manager at studio Behaviour Interactive, has taken to the PlayStation Blog to explain Dead by Daylight's newest killer's various abilities and perks. Unsurprisingly, Nemesis attacks with his tentacles and attacking survivors can infect them with the T-Virus, which in turn makes his tentacles stronger and provides additional buffs.

Nemesis won't be the only thing stalking the map either. He will be joined by AI-controlled zombies which will respawn even after they're taken out. Aside from being another threat, Nemesis can even destroy them himself to boost his Mutation Rate (which is what improves his tentacles and grants him buffs).

As for perks, the game is clearly aiming to replicate Nemesis' unrelenting nature and terrifying intelligence, which he regularly demonstrates throughout Resident Evil 3. His first one, Lethal Pursuer, reveals survivor auras at the start of the match for a short period, giving Nemesis a head start on hunting them down. His second perk, Hysteria, will cause all players to suffer from the Oblivious status effect whenever one of them enters the injured state from Nemesis' attack.

Lastly, his Eruption perk can turn a generator into a hazard that explodes once a survivor enters the dying state. Multiple generators can be affected at once and anyone unlucky enough to be repairing one when it explodes will suffer from the Incapacitated status effect. More in-depth details can be read on the PlayStation Blog, but Nemesis is shaping up to be a fun character to play as and appropriately terrifying to face. Hopefully, though, he won't be too overpowered.

That's not all fans have to look forward to this month. With it being Pride Month, Behaviour has laid out its plans to celebrate the occasion throughout June. It's even confirmed that it will be adding an LGBTQ+ character to the game in the future.

Meanwhile, Capcom's own multiplayer game Resident Evil Re:Verse has yet to release. A more traditional battle-royale style title, it gives players the chance to play as some of the franchise's most iconic heroes and monsters in six vs six matches. It was meant to release alongside Resident Evil Village but Capcom wound up delaying it.

Dead by Daylight is available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
