Smite 2 has made a lot of improvements to the original game, featuring a much more streamlined approach to playing. Gone are the wide range of champion archetypes; they have been replaced with a focus on Strength, Intelligence, or a hybrid of the two. While this can help make things easier, another key facet is knowing which role one's God will play with some Gods being more beginner friendly than others.
