One Destiny 2 player clears the Expunge: Labyrinth mission completely solo with an impressively quick time using a few handy techniques.

Season of the Splicer has seemingly continued that positive trend started with the Beyond Light expansion. Bungie has found a way to mix both content and story in each Destiny 2 season, releasing new content throughout the multiple weeks to keep players engaged with the season long story. As players have discovered, Season of the Splicer has introduced a subtle plot that threatens the Last City from within while the Vex attack continues to be the primary focus.

As the game continues to unravel a potential coup d'etat against the Vanguard, players have been working alongside the House of Light Kell Mithrax in an effort to stop the Vex and their latest plot against the Last City. While Override missions are the big new content this season, Expunge missions are a weekly way to obtain new gear similar to the Exo Challenges introduced within the Beyond Light expansion. Already, players have begun to discover all sorts of time saving tricks in an effort to clear these missions even faster.

One Destiny 2 player named Herbieh on Reddit reached a new milestone while taking on the maze-like Expunge: Labyrinth mission. This mission type is more platforming focused than on combat, tasking players with making it out of a maze-like structure of platforms, corridors, and puzzle solving with minimal battles. As such, many players have been seeing how fast they can clear this mission, with many posting sub-5 minute times using a variety of strategies.

However, Herbieh revealed that after 15 hours and over 400 deaths, they had found the most optimal route using the Revenant Hunter. Herbieh was able to clear the Labyrinth mission in just 3 minutes and 26 seconds using the Worldline Zero exotic sword to help quickly cover large distances with its Temporal Sprint buff combined with the Shatterdive ability. They also managed to cleverly use the boss' stomp mechanic to launch themselves over to one of the deposit stations, further cutting down on the clear time.

With new Expunge missions arriving just about every week, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to showcase their skill in getting through these missions. In addition to weekly Expunge missions, Bungie's own Season of the Splicer roadmap also lists plenty more content for fans to look forward headlined by the annual Solstice of Heroes event arriving in just about a month's time. It's also highly likely that Bungie has a few surprises left to share, as the season still has a long way to go, ultimately coming to a close with the Epilogue on August 10.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
