Builds can help you dominate your opponents in Fifa 21 Ultimate Team. Here's a look at the best for La Liga.

With only a few months left as the most recent entry in EA Sports' lucrative soccer franchise, FIFA 21 is gearing up for the end-season peak in popularity, with new players flocking in to buy the game at a discounted price and dive straight into the Ultimate Team mode.

While the English Premier League is by far the most popular league to build a team around, the Spanish La Liga does not lag far behind it. It's rich in highly-rated players, as well as some undervalued gems that can provide any FUT player with a good bang for their buck, provided that they know how to use them.

Best Choice: Jan Oblak. As far as goalkeepers are concerned, the Slovenian national team star is one of the best players in the world. His overall rating of 91 is all that players need to know to pick him up for their La Liga teams. With Oblak in goal, even the most powerful of shots won't seem too threatening.

Budget Choice: Geronimo Rulli. Finding an 82-rated player with a price tag of just over 1,000 coins is incredibly rare. Rulli is one of such players and he can save FIFA fans a solid headache by securing the important goalkeeper spot for a sum that's considered little more than pocket change in the Ultimate Team marketplace.

Best Choice: Jesus Navas. Aside from four years spent at Manchester City, Jesus Navas is a Sevilla man through and through. His pace (87) and dribbling (83) are unmatched by other La Liga left-backs, and despite his 35 years of age, he is still going strong, having helped his team secure the fourth spot in the league table this season.

Budget Alternative: Ander Capa. Defenders who are both quick on their feet (83 pace) and unusually strong (88 physicality) are hard to come across in FIFA 21, especially in the Spanish league, which doesn't place too much emphasis on strength. This makes Ander Capa a great budget choice for La Liga-focused gamers, and at 2,000 coins, he is one of the most affordable wide backs out there.

Best Choices: Raphael Varane and Clement Lenglet. Fierce rivals when they play for their clubs, teammates in the national team. The combination of French defenders Varane and Lenglet is as close to a security guarantee as possible in FIFA. They have become household La Liga names in recent years, and although players might have to splash some serious cash on them, they are worth every coin.

Budget Alternatives: Mario Hermoso and Eder Militao. Atletico Madrid's Mario Hermoso is a solid budget central defender, who is strong (79 physicality), but also won't lag behind attackers (75 pace). Combining him with Eder Militao will result in a strong, fast defensive partnership for a bargain price of under 10,000 coins.

Best Choice: Jordi Alba. With 63 assists in a Barcelona jersey to his name, Jordi Alba is one of the best wide backs for players who are after someone who knows how to pick a pass or deliver a perfectly weighted cross into the penalty box. Combined with his 88-rated pace and 78 defensive rating, he's one of the most complete players in La Liga.

Budget Alternative: Marcos Acuna. Sevilla's first-choice left-back is not as recognizable as Jordi Alba, but his skills are similar to those of the Barcelona legend. With a dribbling rating of 86 and 82-rated defensive stat, he's as dangerous going forward as he is when protecting the backline from opposition players.

Best Choice: Lionel Messi. The greatest of all time. Even people who are completely uninterested in soccer recognize this player's name and face. Although he can take up many positions, in FIFA 21, it's best to use Messi as a right midfielder. With 95 dribbling, 92 shooting, and 91-rated passing, Messi can carry a team for the entire match.

Budget Alternative: Lucas Ocampos. Another Sevilla player on the list, Ocampos is an all-rounded winger that's more than worth his 2,000-coin price tag. His 82-rated pace and dribbling are more than enough to blast through most defenses, and the 83 shot rating means that he can also be deadly in front of the goal.

Best Choices: Frenkie De Jong and Toni Kroos. In a perfect mix of youthful vigor and the wisdom of an experienced player, placing Toni Kroos and Frenkie De Jong in one midfield is a no-brainer for players who have the money to do so. With Kroos's 91-rated passes, and De Jong's dribbling rating of 87, this midfield duo is bound to dominate the center of the field.

Budget Alternatives: Federico Valverde and Sergio Canales. As a fast (86 pace) and strong (80 physicality) midfielder, Valverde is the perfect conduit for rapid counterattacks, whereas Canales more than makes up for his lower passing rating and can dribble the ball out of trouble. In the right team, these two can form an explosive partnership.

Best Choice: Eden Hazard. Ever since his arrival in Madrid in 2019, the Belgian superstar has been relentlessly mocked for his streak of injuries and poor performances. Fortunately, his lack of consistent game time in real life did not transfer onto FIFA 21, where he retained his high overall rating of 88 and can wreak havoc amongst defenders just like he did back during his prime days at Chelsea.

Budget Alternative: Vinicius Jr. It took some time for the Brazilian youngster to break into Real Madrid's first team, but once he did, he's proven to be a worthy replacement for the perpetually injured Hazard. With 95-rated pace and 86 dribbling, there is no distinguishing Vinicius Junior from the best players in the game when he's racing down the wing.

Best Choice: Antoine Griezmann. The jury is still out on whether or not it was worth it for Barcelona to buy Griezmann from Atletico Madrid back in 2019. In FIFA, though, players will get their money's worth if they choose to buy him. With an 88 dribbling rating and 85-rated shots, Griezmann is considered to be one of the most prolific strikers in FUT.

Budget Alternative: Joao Felix. Initially brought in as a replacement for Griezmann, who has departed Atletico Madrid for Barcelona, Joao Felix is shaping up to become a generational talent. While he's still got some work left to do to become a world-class player, FIFA fans can still put him to good use in their Ultimate Team squads, with his 81 overall rating and attacking stats all breaking the 80-point barrier.
