The 1996 original Scream took place exactly one year after Maureen's death, and the Ghostface attacks in Scream 4 happened 15 years after the original Ghostface attacks that followed her death. It would bring everything full circle if Scream 7 took place on the big 30th anniversary of Maureen's death.
