Most players will try to set up a forge within the first few days of their playthrough. A forge gives players the ability to smelt materials and make things like ammo, cement, and forged iron. One of the other materials that can be crafted in a forge is forged steel. This is the toughest craftable material in the game. Not only is it used for crafting things like steel doors and steel blocks, but it is also required for crafting a plethora of late-game weapons, armor pieces, and vehicle parts.
