Game Freak broke new ground with the release of Pokemon X and Y in October of 2013. It marked the first time that the gaming giant had a simultaneous release of games across all key regions globally. Additionally, X & Y added, "Mega Evolution," which allowed 30 fully evolved Pokemon to take an additional step of development.
