20 years have now passed since the release of Lionhead Studios' Fable, and no game has come close to replicating its whimsical formula since. Fable is an anomaly in just about every way, offering players a unique experience that they can't find anywhere else with its over-the-top style, crass humor, and innovative alignment system. Any noteworthy game that has survived this long and also manages to avoid reproducing copycats deserves the utmost attention, especially on its twentieth anniversary.
