Destiny 2 introduces several new weapons with its new Season of the Splicer, and some of them may be obtained with the Prismatic Recaster.

Destiny 2 has introduced lots of great weapons with its new Season of the Splicer, and Guardians are able to obtain them in several different ways. One of the most prominent sets of weapons is awarded for the completion of seasonal activities, namely Override and Expunge, along with the Umbral Engrams that Mithrax provides players with for every rank up in his reputation tracker. There are six weapons that are related to the Season of the Splicer, and they come with similar characteristics to the aesthetics of this season. Plus, there are interesting perks that make them quite useful in the current Destiny 2 meta, both for PvE and PvP.

That's not all, however, as there are Umbral Engrams with specific drops to look for this Destiny 2 season, including world drops, specific weapon categories, and Future War Cult weapons. Overall, all the available weapons are pretty good, but there are some that are better to farm than others.

These are the new seasonal weapons in Destiny 2:

  • Chroma Rush, a kinetic auto rifle
  • Ignition Code, a kinetic grenade launcher
  • Farewell, a kinetic sidearm
  • Gridskipper, a Void energy pulse rifle
  • Sojourner's Tale, a Solar energy shotgun
  • Shattered Cipher, a Void power machine gun

The seasonal weapons can be found in the following focused Umbral Engrams:

  • Splicer Armory, which contains a random weapon from all six available
  • Splicer's Captain Armory, which only includes Chroma Rush and Ignition Code
  • Splicer's Vandal Armory, which can only award the Farewell and the Gridskipper
  • Splicer's Kell Armory, whose drop pool only includes Sojourner's Tale and Shattered Cipher

There are other focused Umbral Engrams to be found in the Prismatic Recaster, and they are the following, each with their weapon drops:

  • FWC Armory, containing all Future War Cult weapons, meaning The Number, Memory Interdict, The Vision, Stochastic Variable, Pleiades Corrector, and The Deicide
  • FWC Favored Arms, which contains one weapon among The Number, Memory Interdict, and Pleiades Corrector
  • FWC Close Range, including Stochastic Variable, The Vision, and The Deicide
  • Longshot, with either Tarantula or Eternal Blazon
  • Shock Trooper, containing Retrofuturist or Cartesian Coordinate
  • Blades, containing Swords

The best weapons to use are Chroma Rush, Ignition Code, Gridskipper, and Sojourner's Tale from the seasonal set, and the best one from the other Engrams is the Stochastic Variable SMG. There is another weapon that is great to have, but it is exclusive to the Titan class, meaning that Hunters and Warlocks cannot wield it. This is, of course, the Crown Splitter, which is all the rage in the current meta for Destiny 2 due to its insane interaction with a new seasonal mod called Energy Accelerant. This sword can be obtained as a world drop or tailor-farmed by opening the Blades Umbral Engram through the Prismatic Recaster.

Chroma Rush is a solid auto rifle, which can roll with formidable perks like Feeding Frenzy, Rampage, and Wellspring, meaning it can be pretty devastating in PvE especially. Another weapon that feels like a must-have in this meta is Ignition Code thanks to several factors, like the fact that it can drop with Blinding Grenades to apply crowd control, and then perks like Frenzy, Demolitionist, and Ambitious Assassin. The benefits of Breach and Clear cannot be understated either. Gridskipper is very nice for PvE, but it is even better for PvP thanks to its build and to perks like Heating Up, Tunnel Vision, and Multikill Clip.

Sojourner's Tale is a slug shotgun that can roll with either Surrounded or Frenzy, both strong traits in PvE especially. Stochastic Variable is not a new weapon, but it is relevant in the current meta thanks to it being able to roll Feeding Frenzy, Dragonfly, Multikill Clip, and Wellspring. Then, again, one of the best weapons this Season is Crown Splitter, so Titans who still don't have one should look for rolls like Thresh and Vorpal Weapon.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
