The anime adaptation of Yuki Midorikawa's Natsume's Book of Friends manga is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, with the seventh season set to drop this Fall. The series' staff released a new promotional trailer of the upcoming series this Friday, which featured the ending theme song performed by Toshiki Kond titled, "Komari Warai". This season comes almost a decade after the sixth season, which was released in the Spring season of 2017, with an OVA released that summer and three movies released between 2018 and 2021.
