The NBA 2K series has been using its shot meter for years now, and NBA 2K25 is no different in using this system to help players pull off the perfect shot to take over a match. This mechanic is designed to help players use pinpoint timing in order to know when the character should release the ball. This will appear once the player uses either Square/X or the right stick, which will then prompt a meter that begins to fill up. However, some players haven't been pleased with some of the changes that were made to this new entry.
