Shadowkeep was released a couple of years ago, expanding the Destiny 2 playable universe to the moon. The update included a host of new quests, items, and events to complete. However, in 2021, a lot of players are reporting issues with certain quest objectives. One such objective is finding the Trove Guardian during the "Memory of Toland" quest.

Some players have waited hours to find the Trove Guardian, and others state that the chest will not spawn once he is defeated. This guide will take a look at the quest and some of the potential solutions for these issues. Hopefully, with the right approach, gamers will be able to track down the elusive Trove Guardian.

Despite all of the claims that the Hive Trove Guardian will not spawn, the NPC will spawn in one of three places. The three locations are the Anchor of Light, Archer's Line, and Hellmouth. The exact spawn locations are described in detail below.

Gamers will often explore the Anchor of Light on the Moon after they first spawn in. To find the Trove Guardian, people must follow the path to the right from the spawn. The path will take guardians northeast to the Anchor of Light. As soon as the location indicator appears, the Trove Guardian will spawn near the pathway. If the Trove Guardian spawns here, people will have no issue spotting him. Enemies will spawn to the left and begin attacking him.

The closest Trove Guardian spawn location is at the southernmost point of the Archer's Line. The Guardian can be found near the edge of the crevasse dividing the spawn area from the zone. While traveling north, guardians will cross over a small bridge and see the huge crevasse to the right. Just after crossing the bridge, gamers should follow the small fork in the path to the right. Near the end of the broken pathway in the archer's line, players will see the Guardian.

The final location the Trove Guardian spawns at will be in the Hellmouth. Guardians should travel north through the Archer's line if they do not see the Trove Guardian. As soon as players enter the path leading east to Hellmouth, they will cross over a gap or jump in the path. The Trove Guardian spawns somewhere in the general vicinity of that area. The enemy is commonly on the right side of the road just after the gap.

A couple of years ago there was speculation that the Guardian's spawn location rotated week by week. Users were camping a spawn point for an hour or even longer. No one should ever wait an hour for an enemy to spawn in Destiny 2. Instead, check all three locations for the NPC.

If the Trove Guardian does not spawn, loading back into the Moon spawn point may work. People that still are unable to find the evasive Trove Guardian can travel to each location and wait a few minutes. If the enemy does not spawn, move on to the next spot. Waiting patiently for a few minutes will almost always initiate the NPC to appear.

When all else fails, reset the game and try again. Traveling to a different planet/moon is another way to reset the AI in each location in Destiny 2. Finding this NPC can be frustrating, but he will appear eventually for those that stay patient and rotate between the three possible locations.

Far less guardians have had an issue with the chest spawning. Although, the chest will not appear instantaneously. Once the Trove Guardian is defeated, players will have to complete a jump puzzle to locate the treasure. People can adjust their character's jump tree to make it easier to complete before taking down the enemy.

Each first platform appears in a specific location depending on where the Trove Guardian spawned. In the Archer's Line, the platform appears at the edge of the crevasse to the south. In the Anchor of light, the initial platform will be at the base of the hill next to the path where the enemy appeared. Finally, in Hellmouth, the platform appears at the edge of the mouth that leads to the core of the Moon.

Guardians may find it easier to use a Warlock, but any class can make the jumps. To activate the next platform, users must walk to the edge of the platform they are standing on. There are a total of seven platforms in the puzzle. The Chest is located on the final platform. Each chest will drop Glimmer, Moon armor and weapons, and Phantasmal Fragments.
