If fans have either an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, they are eligible to play select Warhammer games this weekend through Xbox's Free Play Days. Xbox's Free Play Days are promotional events that last a single weekend between Thursdays and Sundays.
The promotion commonly arrives alongside celebratory launches and events from the games featured, with several Free Play Days being promoted throughout each month. Xbox's most recent Free Play Days featured Gears 5 and F1 2020 as its free games with discounted editions. As for the Free Play Days this weekend, players only have a few days left to enjoy select games from the Warhammer series for free.

The games included in this weekend's Free Play Days promotion are Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr Complete Collection, Warhammer: Chaosbane, and Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus. Each game has been chosen as part of Warhammer's Skulls showcase, which announced upcoming festivities and other news regarding the Warhammer franchise. Not only is each of the three Warhammer games presently free, but they are also largely discounted this weekend.
Discounted sales are also available during the promotion for every edition of the participating Warhammer games. For example, players receive a generous 80% discount off of all editions of Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor. Warhammer: Chaosbane is offering 70% and 60% discounts on its editions, while Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus' standard edition is given a 60% discount. As a note, these sale prices and discount percentages may vary based upon the region or country they are purchased from.
But besides being offered at a lower price, there is another incentive for purchasing these select games during the promotional weekend. Players can take advantage of the benefits included in Xbox's Free Play Days by having any downloadable content purchased during the promotion carry over into their purchased edition once the promotion ends. Gamerscore and achievements during the event are also carried over from the event, letting players continue progress in either Warhammer game.
Fortunately, Xbox users that do not currently have an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription are still invited to join Free Play Days festivities. Unsubscribed users are able to play in Xbox's online multiplayer for free with merely an Xbox account. Otherwise, multiplayer is exclusive to Xbox users with the aforementioned subscriptions.
Game Workshop's fantastical worlds from Warhammer franchises are a fan-welcomed addition to the Xbox Free Play Days lineup, particularly alongside Skull Festival news. For subscribed users, Xbox's Free Play Days content is located either in the Microsoft Store online or in the Xbox Store from a console.
