The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom takes place in Hyrule wherein the story opens with Link about to defeat Ganon again. Before they can finish their fight, a portal opens up and starts to swallow all of Hyrule. In a last-ditch effort, Link saves Zelda from her imprisoned crystal, and she takes on the mantle of the new hero in the game.
