Destiny 2: Solar Explosions Titan Build, Energy Accelerant, Warmind Cells

Destiny 2 introduced a very strong PvE seasonal mod called Energy Accelerant, which works extremely well with Solar explosions and Warmind Cells.

Destiny 2 has come a long way ever since its first year; both in terms of the stories told and how they are told, and also how diverse Guardian builds can now be, regardless of the dominant meta. This build is not exactly what players will see many Titans go for while in Raids or other endgame content, but nonetheless, it is one that holds its ground and can be quite fun thanks to its peculiar interactions. One of the main elements of this build is to use Energy Accelerant, one of the most game-breaking mods in Destiny 2 right now, especially so for Titans.

In fact, Titans are granted access to their class-specific sword, the Crown Splitter, which deals massive amounts of damage with its heavy strike if combined with Energy Accelerant. While the sword can easily find its spot in this build, it doesn't revolve around it. Instead, the main weapon in this Destiny 2 build is the Sunshot, a hand cannon introduced all the way back into the first chapter of Destiny 2's story, the Red War. This gun creates Solar explosions on kill, and they can be combined with several other mods to create an add-clearing build with very few rivals, especially so if the players have the new Titan boots, the Path of the Burning Steps.

For those unfamiliar with the hand cannon, Sunshot is an Exotic weapon that has a unique perk called Sun Blast, which allows it to create Solar damage explosions whenever it kills an enemy. This scales with Destiny 2's Energy Accelerant, being not too dissimilar from Dragonfly and Firefly, but it also comes with an extra hidden perk that makes Sunshot explosions that kill an enemy trigger another chain explosion from that target, possibly repeating indefinitely. This combination makes for an extremely powerful build on its own, but Solar damage also happens to be one of the best ways in the game to create Warmind Cells, with mods like Wrath of Rasputin.

In Destiny 2, Warmind Cells are destructible objects that can be upgraded and made even more deadly with a specific set of mods: Global Reach increases the area of effect of the explosions from Warmind Cells, Rage of the Warmind adds an extra Solar explosion, and Hammer of the Warmind stuns affected combatants and makes them deal less damage. There is one more mod that makes this build even more powerful, despite it not being the greatest on its own, and that is Burning Cells; allowing Warmind explosion kills to spawn Sunspots while using the bottom tree of the Sunbreaker Titan.

Sunbreaker is the best choice for this build, and especially its bottom tree Sun Warrior ability, which speeds up the recharge of melee and grenade abilities while passing through a Sunspot, while also adding a generic damage boost. This is especially deadly if combined with the Path of the Burning Steps Exotic boots, which have a perk called Firewalker that procs with Solar final blows and grants an escalating damage boost that goes from 20% up to 35%, further increasing the potential of Sunshot and Warmind Cells.

Unfortunately, it doesn't scale with other buffs like Charged with Light, which would have granted another 20% damage boost if it worked with Firewalker. Regardless, this build doesn't even really need more damage than it already has. Titans should prepare to witness pure destruction with this loadout.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
