Cosplay superstar Lisa Mancini has just created the ultimate mash-up featuring two of the most empowered female icons - Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon. Mancini is a very talented artist, and it’s evident in the way she was able to display the perfect balance of Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon’s essence. Looking at the two feminist idols blended into one being, it almost seems as though they were destined to be a duo like Batman and Robin. Not only is Mancini responsible for the idea itself, but she is also in charge of the execution.
Every individual part of her cosplay mash-up is handmade and crafted. This fact alone goes to show that Mancini is not only a fan of these female heroes but she is also following in their footsteps. She replied to a lot of her fans' comments on her Reddit post, in which people were in awe of her creation and wanted to know her process. The combo shield is what seems to be drawing everyone’s attention. Mancini revealed that the base for the shield oddly enough was a serving platter.

For the design featured on the shield, she used Eva Foam in order to create the star and moon. The stunning, multi-colored gems were cast in resin and 3D-printed ring holders. Her attention to detail is like tunnel vision. There are so many hidden intricate accessories to be found, guaranteed to require a second look in order to revel in all its feminine magic.
The ruby Sailor Moon-inspired tiara that rests on her forehead was made from Worbla and a resin-cast gem. Mancini might be onto something with this mash-up for not only the future of Cosplay but possibly for the MCU. One person in the comments mentioned how epic it would be for the Justice League and Sailor Senshi to cross over. Mancini mentioned that she had the idea of possible gender-bending in the back of her mind when she created this cosplay. Sailor Moon and Wonder Woman both stand for female equality, power, and independence.
Sailor Moon and Wonder Woman are taken seriously as a threat to evil, without having to abandon their outer expression of femininity. Not only is Mancini’s cosplay quite impressive, but in many ways, it also has the potential to be groundbreaking. Cosplay artists could have a hand in ushering in representation for more female and gender non-conforming superheroes to make it to the screen.
Either way, Lisa Mancini is without a doubt a content creator that deserves to be highlighted. To find more of her brilliant Cosplay, her username on the majority of her platforms is lisa.mancinerh.
Wonder Woman 1984 is now available on HBO Max and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie will premiere exclusively on Netflix on June 3rd, 2021.
