One Apex Legends player discovers a way to perform a super grapple, adding speed and momentum onto the regular Pathfinder signature move.

One Apex Legends player appears to have found a way to tweak one of the signature moves of Pathfinder. The user has found a way to use a kind of "super grapple" with Pathfinder that gives the Legend a bit of a leg up on the competition.

Apex Legends is one of those games where an inch here, and an inch there can make the difference in a match. Usually, those inches present themselves more when someone is dealing with something like recoil in the Respawn team-based shooter. However, being able to fly or grapple just a few inches more can mean between a character making it out of a firefight, or landing smack dab in the middle of one.

In a new video put up by YouTube user Kap3, the user demonstrates how he was able to come up with a method of using a super grapple, which he claims is a gamechanger in Apex Legends. The first thing a user will need is to find either an object or a wall to latch onto. Instead of shooting the grapple directly at the object or wall, the player needs to look for an edge or boundary of the object or wall to shoot the hook at.

The key for Pathfinder users is to make sure the grapple's crosshairs turn yellow, instead of blue. The crosshairs going yellow is Apex Legends trying to tell the player they cannot grapple onto what aimed at, but that's not the case. If the player has aimed exactly right, it's the first step in pulling off the super grapple.

There are then two ways that people have said will work to get the necessary speed and momentum in order to actually carry out the super grapple. Some say that the user needs to time the jump just right, while others say walking forward a few steps will aid in getting it exactly right.

This particular move isn't an easy one to pull off, as it takes some pinpoint control mixed with great timing. It's important to remember this is a particular move that Pathfinder is not actually supposed to be able to pull off. This isn't quite a bug either, nor an exploit so this certainly doesn't count as a cheat. So far, the developers haven't weighed in on whether or not they might eventually patch the ability to do this out, so it might be there permanently or could be removed in a matter of days.

Apex Legends is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S.
