The Nintendo Switch is Nintendo's second best-selling console of all time, having shipped over 143 million units since its 2017 debut. Given the consistent stream of high-quality exclusives the company has released as of late, it's not surprising to see why. From The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Metroid Dread to Super Mario Wonder and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the diversity in Nintendo's first-party lineup this generation is the strongest it's been in years, and many of its legacy franchises have gained newfound popularity. That being said, the Nintendo Switch is getting up there in age, and its technical limitations are becoming more and more apparent. With the console soon to turn 8 years old in 2025, a lot of longtime Nintendo fans are ready to move on to the Switch 2.
