A group of talented cosplayers effectively manages to crossover Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with Persona 5, with hilarious results.

Persona 5 has become one of the most recognizable video game aesthetics. Even players who have yet to experience Persona 5, will likely recognize the game's unique visual style, UI layout, and art direction. As a result, it's been utilized in a lot of different pieces of fan content all over the internet, but fans have also managed to cross Persona 5's UI in a real-life setting, using characters from one of the most memorable entries in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Video game crossovers, especially when it comes to fan-made media, are quite common within the gaming community. Online users will often find unique crossovers in terms of fan art and cosplay. For instance, back in mid-January, a fan-created crossover art of Kratos using Hades' art style. However, this most recent example involves live-action cosplay.

A Reddit user by the name of Tech_Master737 posted a photo of a group of cosplayers holding the cardboard cutouts of the Persona 5 battle UI and pointing them at a cosplayer who's depicting Big Smoke from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The Persona 5 battle UI has been used in a lot of different meme applications, but having it used in a live-action setting is not only hilarious to see, but also inventive.

Everything about this cosplay photo is amazing. From the spot-on depiction of Big Smoke to the detail put into the UI symbols, to the Cluckin' Bell bag at the bottom center of the image, this will be sure to impress fans of Persona 5 and GTA: San Andreas alike. Though, all things considered, Persona 5 and San Andreas don't really make sense as a crossover combination, much like Animal Crossing and Doom.

In any case, it will be interesting to see how long Persona 5 maintains its longevity. With all of the spin-off games to release over the last couple of years, including rumors of a Persona 5 fighting game in the works, it's likely that it's popularity will continue into the near future. Although, what's impressive is how the series' popularity has flourished since the release of Persona 5.

Given the amount of success that Persona 5 has achieved, it has caused a demand for older Atlus games to get revitalized. With the PC port of Persona 4 Golden and the HD Remaster of Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne, it's clear that the SMT and Persona series have greatly risen in popularity. Then again, the fact that Persona 5 spawned a crossover cosplay with GTA: San Andreas is a pretty big indicator of the game's popularity.

Persona 5 Royal is currently available on PlayStation 4.
