It has been a strange year for Destiny 2, with a delayed and very hyped The Final Shape expansion that launched to incredible success, only for Bungie to fall from grace with the mass layoffs and multiple controversies both within the game and outside it. While The Final Shape itself was considered the single best expansion in the franchise's history by many longtime fans, it hit a sore spot with all the marketing material involving the return of Exotic class items to Destiny 2, only for them to be accessible via a heavy-comms, two-player activity. This sparked a debate about solo players and accessibility, and there has yet to be a resolution. Bungie has made a few steps in the right direction, and Festival of the Lost 2024 is addressing this too - but there is a catch.
