Sonic X Shadow Generations ranks your progress through each of its stages, giving you a grade when you reach the goal ring or goal plate. Higher ranks require you to finish stages faster and more efficiently, with Sonic Generations' stages also requiring you to clear the stage without losing a single life to earn the highest possible grade. The highest possible rank is the S-Rank.
