The roster for E3 2021 looks incredibly promising, with some big games already confirmed from major publishers to appear throughout the event.

2021 has already been an exciting year for games. With leaked content for hugely anticipated titles like Starfield and Elden Ring, the hype for E3 2021 is palpable. It is not massively surprising, thanks to the release of a new console generation and innovations in PC GPUs. As such, the horizon of technical possibility for gaming is at an all time high. That's not all, either, indie games are also going from strength to strength. Overall, the roster for E3 looks incredibly promising for AAA and indie fans alike. There are slots for several major publishers, as well as some independent showcases in store.

With rumors abound about the possible E3 presence of Elden Ring and Breath of the Wild 2 continue to circulate, there are some big games that are definitely confirmed for E3 2021. Among these are remasters of classics like Life Is Strange, titles with little to no news like Babylon's Fall, and games like Far Cry 6 boasting star-studded cast members like Giancarlo Esposito. Whatever surprises E3 has in store for gamers in 2021, the confirmed titles are already cause for excitement.

Square Enix announced two different Life Is Strange games appearing at E3 this year, the first of which was more information about the upcoming title True Colors. This title focuses on Alex Chen, whose supernatural power of empathy brings them both adventure and many troubles. Chen's empath capabilities also stretch to actively changing the emotions of others. After the mysterious death of her brother in the small town of Haven Springs, Alex must use these new powers to uncover the reasons for his death, and whether or not someone was responsible.

After several months of staggering popularity, Resident Evil Village will appear as part of Capcom's E3 showcase. The incredibly successful title will join Monster Hunter Rise, Ace Attorney, and several other Capcom titles at the event, hosted by streamer Rachel Quirico. Capcom's showcase starts at 2:30 p.m. PT on June 14. Resident Evil fans could see upcoming DLC or similar content expansions coming to the series' 8th installment. What exactly any expansion will feature is uncertain, although it probably won't make the Resident Evil Thomas The Tank Engine mod canon, unfortunately.

Giancarlo Esposito. Revolutionary guerrilla combat. A dachshund called Chorizo. With all of these and more, Far Cry 6 has a lot to offer fans. As such, it being on the line-up from Ubisoft for E3 is undeniably a big deal. Ubisoft have stacked the deck for this E3; the publisher boasts one of the largest selections of confirmed games at the show. Perhaps this is an attempt to win back favor after a year of Ubisoft controversies. Either way, the studio is frontloading its Ubisoft Forward event with many titles. Unsurprisingly, Far Cry 6 is the biggest game in the Ubisoft Forward event.

With incredibly renowned actors gracing the cast, the game is set to have some exciting performances. Giancarlo Esposito takes on the role of Anton Castillo in Far Cry 6. Castillo serves the role of iconic Far Cry villain for this sixth installment in the series. The gameplay of guerrilla revolutionaries looks interesting too, with a lot of background information already available about the game's Resolver Guerrillas. What Ubisoft still has left to reveal about this title is anybody's guess, but a proper gameplay preview would certainly go down a treat for fans of the franchise.

Despite a rocky release, Marvel's Avengers will show some of its Black Panther downloadable content at the upcoming E3 show. The game's War For Wakanda expansion is front and center for Avengers at Square Enix's E3 conference. Thanks to a new Klaw faction, the Wakandan environments will feature whole new enemy types and threats. Hopefully, players will see gameplay content of the vibrant and dynamic jungles of Wakanda in action, areas teased by the recent trailer revealing the new expansion.

The latest expansion to Watch Dogs: Legion is Bloodline. This prequel DLC takes place before the events of the game, with past protagonist Aiden Pearce taking the lead once more. He is joined by Wrench, a mysterious hacker from Watch Dogs 2, to complete a storyline building up to the main events in Legion. Towards the end of the month, both Pearce and Wrench unlock as playable characters. In August, more new missions and a free world event (alongside an Assassin's Creed crossover) also release for Watch Dogs: Legion.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set for a new update announcement at E3. The game's Siege of Paris expansion has already been announced, so players can probably expect to see some gameplay, or at least a more in-depth trailer, at the Ubisoft Forward event. YouTuber J0nathan, a leaker with an accurate record, data mined the game and found some specific information on this new DLC. It allegedly takes place in 885 AD, several years after the main game. Apparently, one handed swords are also coming to the game in this expansion, which could be among the features Ubisoft show off in its E3 show.

For Honor, Ubisoft's medieval-styled multiplayer PvP and co-op slash 'em up enters its fifth year in 2021, and E3 is revealing more details about its Year 5 Season 2. This new content actually goes live on June 10, but certain essential components will not release until much later. For example, the new hero, which will bring the game's roster to a healthy 30, will not release until July 22. It is likely that Ubisoft will unveil its new For Honor hero at the E3 event, along with more information about the game's future.

Babylon's Fall, the latest project of Platinum Games, was first announced in 2019. However, it very quickly dropped out of the public eye, perhaps due to development delays. Regardless, fans are still excited to see more of the Square Enix published, Platinum Games developed action game. Babylon's Fall looks to be an action RPG in the style of Devil May Cry, and fans will learn more about the title at Square Enix's June 13th E3 show.

Rainbow Six: Quarantine recently renamed to Rainbow Six Extraction, and also has a spot on the Ubisoft Forward event. Extraction already hints at how this game will not rely quite as heavily on the realism of other Rainbow Six titles. In fact, the trailer looks somewhat similar to recent titles like Control. Perhaps Extraction will also incorporate the weirder elements of science fiction. Rainbow Six Siege will also have its new mission, North Star, and cross-play features shown off at the event.

While the exact details are uncertain, EIDOS Montreal is set to announce a new title at E3. The Deus Ex developers are unfortunately unlikely to be bringing a new entry in the iconic RPG franchise. Instead, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier implied that the studio will be showing off a Guardians of the Galaxy videogame in a recent tweet. This forms part of a larger set of Marvel games rumored to be at the event (including an alleged "X-Com with Marvel heroes" game from Firaxis, according to this reddit thread). A Guardians game from EIDOS Montreal could be fascinating, especially in the context of other exciting upcoming space games.

E3 2021 begins on Saturday, June 12.
