Back in January 2020, Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg took his first break from YouTube in 10 years, and apparently, the popular YouTube content creator is preparing to take another brief hiatus from the platform.
PewDiePie confirmed during a recent video that he will be taking a week-long break from YouTube as he's been waiting for months for the upcoming Minecraft update. Minecraft's "Caves & Cliffs" update released on June 8, which is when PewDiePie's Summer break began. PewDiePie won't be the only one taking a week-long break from the channel, as his editor Sive will also be taking the week off.

PewDiePie let his fans know about his upcoming hiatus a few times as he addressed the subject in his video "My Response to..." which released on May 28 and the video "I am being slandered online..." which released on June 7. In both videos, PewDiePie talked about his upcoming break where he intends to enjoy his Summer vacation. According to PewDiePie himself, this Summer vacation will run from June 7 and June 13 give or take. Those are the days PewDiePie specifically stated to his YouTube audience so that they wouldn't expect videos from him between those dates.
If PewDiePie does end up taking his Summer vacation to appreciate the latest Minecraft update, he didn't confirm whether or not he would be livestreaming his gameplay sessions for viewers. Since he's planning to take this time off of YouTube, it's likely that PewDiePie won't be streaming anything over the course of his Summer vacation either. PewDiePie also requested that his audience not visit other content creators to see what Minecraft Caves & Cliffs has to offer so that it'll be fresh for everyone when he returns.
While PewDiePie teased that the latest Minecraft update is his excuse for taking a week off of YouTube content creation, the popular personality also hinted that it might be a joke. After confirming that his months-long waiting for the update was about to come to an end, PewDiePie emotionally raised a fist to his face and let out a small cry. Since PewDiePie has been itching to travel over the last year, his Summer vacation could be when he takes a trip somewhere rather than playing Minecraft Caves & Cliffs.
PewDiePie hasn't confirmed whether or not there are videos scheduled for his break, so fans should expect a break in content as well. Some fans may be disappointed that PewDiePie is taking a break between June 7 and June 13, but they may have to resort to checking out other YouTube channels during the hiatus. If PewDiePie truly does play Caves & Cliffs during his week-long Summer Vacation, fans of his long-running Minecraft Let's Play series will have lots to enjoy when he returns.
