Destiny 2's Episode 1 left a bit of a bittersweet taste in fans' mouths as it had one of the best Exotic missions in the game, but the release's structure left a lot to be desired in terms of pace and the identity of Episodes as whole versus the past seasonal model. Episode 2, Revenant, started off with big changes by making the seasonal story still divided into three acts, but each act can be played fully from the get-go without weekly gating. It's clear that, for better or worse, the episodic model didn't stick the landing, and Destiny 2's Codename: Frontiers will leave it behind. However, a big story change in Revenant is about to let Episode 3 shoot for the moon and beyond.
