The Borderlands franchise received a new entry not long ago, with Borderlands 3 launching in 2019. However, it looks like a new spin-off game is now in the works, with Gearbox officially revealing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands during Summer Game Fest this morning.
While brief, the trailer does give a decent look at the game's visual style, which uses the same cel-shaded look that the Borderlands games have. The trailer kicks off with a character working a forge, a dragon looming in the background. As the dragon attacks, the hooded character whips around and starts firing with his gun.
The trailer goes on to list some of the voice actors that will be featured in the game, with the likes of Andy Samberg, Will Arnett, Wanda Sykes, Ashly Burch, and the ever-popular Butt Stallion from Borderlands 2. It's an impressive cast of characters, with a surprising number of Hollywood celebrities filling out its ranks.
Following Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' announcement, Tiny Tina's voice actress, Ashly Burch, took to the stage to confirm some additional information about the game. It will be a high-fantasy take on a looter shooter, and is inspired by Assault on Dragon Keep, one of Borderlands 2's most popular DLC packs. However, it will be a distinct game from the Borderlands games, Burch says.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is in development.
