In Biomutant, Guns are ideal for clearing out most small and medium-sized enemies outside of melee range. Here are the best ones in the game!

Despite the broad term used to describe this class of weapon, the Guns in Biomutant pertain to handguns and other small projectile firearms. These armaments are a type of ranged weapon that is known primarily for their accuracy, speed, as well as effectiveness at medium and close range. However, they can also be dual-wielded to essentially double their deadliness, unlike all other kinds of firearms in the game.

While being awesome for the above-mentioned qualities, Guns have a couple of drawbacks as a whole: they initially are not capable of doing critical hits and they have next to no armor-piercing power. For this reason, most Guns in their base forms won't be the most useful weapon against thickly skinned, scaled, or metal-plated enemies.

With that being said, Guns are ideal for clearing out most small and medium-sized enemies outside melee range. The 6 best Guns in this weapon category are those with the highest fire rate, greatest effective range, most magazine size, and quickest reload speeds. Aspiring gunslingers should be sure to keep an eye out for these handguns while browsing shops and looting enemy remains.

6 Zap

Zap Base Fire Rate - 30/100

Zap Base Effective Range - 23/100

Zap Base Magazine Size - 9

Zap Base Reload Speed - 80/100

Besides its accuracy, which is common on all Guns, the Zap at first appears to be merely a moderately usable base for a ranged weapon. However, this is only until players notice its ridiculously fast reload speed, which almost makes the magazine size trivial due to players being able to reload at lightning speed. To deliver as steady a stream of bullets as possible, though little else of great value, gamers should seek out the Zap.

5 Purfpew

Purfpew Base Fire Rate - 50/100

Purfpew Base Effective Range - 20/100

Purfpew Base Magazine Size - 18

Purfpew Base Reload Speed - 0/100

Possessing the exact opposite of a good reload time, the Purfpew is a Gun that players should use a bit more carefully than the Zap, as there is a big delay between unloading and inserting a new magazine. Thankfully, the magazine size is usably high and the great fire rate lets players take out foes with controlled yet rapid bursts of bullets. It is advised to use the Purfpew at close range for the most effective results.

4 Magnum

Magnum Base Fire Rate - 50/100

Magnum Base Effective Range - 40/100

Magnum Base Magazine Size - 18

Magnum Base Reload Speed - 45/100

With the same fire rate as the Purfpew, the Magnum can unload equally impressive bursts of bullets, however, this handgun can be used from twice the effective distance and can be reloaded with average speed. These traits make the Magnum a solid choice for anyone intent on wielding a Gun with decent all-around stats and no obvious flaws, despite the fact that it is not the best at anything it can do out of the weapons in this category.

3 Contagion

Contagion Base Fire Rate - 50/100

Contagion Base Effective Range - 23/100

Contagion Base Magazine Size - 36

Contagion Base Reload Speed - 45/100

A large magazine size in combination with decent reload speed grants excellent passive usability to any weapon, and in the right ratio can result in a Gun becoming efficient enough to be deadly without any other special characteristics. The Contagion is such a Gun, however, it also has a swift fire rate, which creates plenty of opportunities to mow down foes. The only area where this armament is lacking is the effective range, which is among the least impressive in this weapon class.

2 Pokker

Pokker Base Fire Rate - 70/100

Pokker Base Effective Range - 50/100

Pokker Base Magazine Size - 9

Pokker Base Reload Speed - 45/100

What this gun lacks in magazine size, it makes up for with one of the best fire rates out of any ranged weapon base and can allow players to perforate enemies quicker than most other options. Accompanied by a solid effective range, the Pokker is usable from further than many Guns and can eliminate threats before they get within firing distance if they do not possess a rifle or other long-range weapon. While the average reload time is not a huge plus, it is still adequate for the Pokker's role.

1 Bangbitsky

Bangbitsky Base Fire Rate - 75/100

Bangbitsky Base Effective Range - 45/100

Bangbitsky Base Magazine Size - 36

Bangbitsky Base Reload Speed - 69/100

In terms of firing stats, the Bangbitsky is very similar to the Pokker, though swaps a bit of fire rate and effective range around to become the fastest-shooting Gun base in the game. The slightly less effective range is not a notable loss and can still decimate enemies from farther away than most of its kind. With these awesome stats, players would expect the magazine size and reload speed to be lacking, however, the opposite is true!

With a huge magazine size and the second-fastest reload time, just behind the Zap, the Bangbitsky rises head and shoulders above other Guns as pretty much being the best at everything a Gun base can do well. Be sure to pick this one up if one seeks the starting point for the best possible Gun in the game.
