The first main event available in Act 1 of Genshin Impact's 1.6 update is "Main Cannons, Make Ready... Fire!" In this event, Genshin Impact players are tasked with sailing their Waverider boats and must use them to destroy various Hilichurl camps - called Floating Towers - scattered across the Golden Apple Archipelago region.

It is important to note that players will not be able to access the first event until they have fully completed the "Mysterious Islands" story quest, and have successfully unlocked all four waypoints on the map in the first area. Once players have completed these prerequisites, they can start the event by accessing it via the Midsummer Island Adventure menu.

From the menu, select Day 1 and then select "go to challenge". After selecting "go to challenge", a marker will display on the map that will lead players to the location of the Hilichurl camp they must destroy.

In order to claim all of the available rewards from the event, there are a variety of challenges that players will have to keep in mind when taking on the Hilichurl camps. These challenges include; "Collect 2000 Shiny Flotsam", "Defeat 60 enemies while boarding a Floating Tower", and  "Use the Waverider Cannon or explosive barrels to destroy 5 Violent Wind Barriers." In total, players are able to earn 120,000 mora, 90 primogems, 6 Heroes Wit, and a Waverider Repair Toolbox from the event challenges.

To Collect 2000 Shiny Flotsam, players need to complete the event a total of 10 times. For each camp they successfully destroy players will receive a reward of 200 Flotsam.

Like other limited-time events in Genshin Impact,  Shiny Flotsam is an event currency that can be used to exchange for various items from the event shop. To exchange Shiny Flotsam for rewards, open up the event page and select the event shop option which should be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

One of the fastest ways that players can defeat 60 enemies while boarding the floating towers is through the use of an Anemo-character. While players may be tempted to defeat enemies with their Waverider cannons, this takes significantly more time. With an Anemo character, players are able to easily push the various Hilichurls off the platform into the water which will result in instant death.

To destroy 5 Violent Wind barriers players are given two options. They can either use their Waverider Cannon, which has a considerable cooldown, or use the standard cannon shot on the explosive barrels that always spawn next to them.

It is important to note that not every Floating Tower that players set out to destroy will contain a Wind Barrier. As a result, players will have to continue replaying the event until they have encountered 5 separate Floating Towers that spawn a Wind Barrier.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
