Discord has been connecting gamers online since 2015, but currently, several users are suffering from connection issues during the boot process.

Discord is a social app that can be accessed on various devices to bring communities together through the internet but currently, there are several Discord users discussing their connection issues online.

Discord users that are suffering from connection issues have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns, most notably through a tweet from an account known as Down Detector. The tweet encourages Twitter users to retweet the post if they have encountered a similar issue on Discord, and the tweet currently has 139 retweets and even more likes.

These Discord connection issues began today at 11:56 AM EDT and several users have encountered issues since then. The tweet responses to Down Detector are all over the board, from fans who are still able to connect to the social platform to frustrated gamers still trying to connect to Discord. These disappointed tweets began rolling out as soon as the problem started and have continued since then. While the initial post included the hashtag Discord Down, most of the fan responses omits the hashtag, suggesting that it may be a blip of an outage.

Some Twitter users have claimed that the Discord server itself was having issues as they received invalid response warnings that encouraged them to try again later. Some of these Twitter users have also expressed that they're stuck on a connecting screen. The top response to the tweet from Down Detector came from someone who claimed to be built differently as their Discord remains unaffected. According to one Twitter user, Discord came back up at the same time as Cloudflare.

One tech-savvy Twitter user known as Arcade Projects responded to the reply thread with a screenshot of Discord's boot modules which unveiled some important details regarding the connection issues. According to this feed, the Discord connection issues arose when the program checked for host updates. In both attempts to find host updates, Discord's update check failed and claimed that the server sent an invalid response. This server issue hasn't been officially confirmed by Discord, but fans of the social platform continue to voice their connection issues online.

A majority of the replies to Down Detector's Discord down tweet expressed similar feelings, suggesting that a small chunk of the Discord audience has been impacted by connection issues on the social platform. While hundreds of gamers have reported server connection issues with Discord on Twitter, there are over 300 million registered users so a majority of the accounts may be unaffected by these issues.
