Fortnite Season 7 is officially underway, and this guide shows players an unorthodox method of getting Gold Bars faster than usual.

After weeks of mysterious teasers, Fortnite Season 7 is finally here. While the latest season changes many things about the game's meta, like axing Season 6's primal weapon crafting system in favor of more streamlined sidegrading, other systems like Gold Bars remain intact.

Themed around an alien invasion, the latest season of Epic Games' free-to-play title alters essentially every major facet of the game, save for how Gold Bars work. Makeshift and Primal weapons are gone, the vast majority of the island's predators are gone, and the battle pass has been changed in a big way, allowing players to pick and choose which rewards they receive.

One thing that a lot of players seem to agree on is Gold Bars' increased scarcity this season. Beds are no longer near-guarantees for quick cash grabs and amassing them at the same rate as last season appears to be a difficult task. However, one YouTuber has concocted an unorthodox method for harvesting Fortnite's in-game currency.

Fortnite Events suggests players should first head to Battle Lab rather than Battle Royale and set their gravity to Asteroid. From there, drop in to Dirty Docks and talk with Joey, one of Season 7's new NPCs, and accept any quests with an hour timer on them. Using the low gravity and hub to expedite travel, amass as many hour-limit quests as possible.

Once players have collected a healthy amount of timed quest challenges, they'll want to head into a Team Rumble match. Given the Fortnite mode's nature of glider redeploy and respawning, Team Rumble makes the perfect setting to knock out groups of the recently acquired quests at a time.

Basically what's happening is Battle Lab setting up a bunch of fruit, and Team Rumble makes it very low-hanging. As Fortnite Events shows at the end of their video, a single match can yield nearly 1,200 Gold Bars, a feat that would be nearly impossible to achieve in the standard Battle Royale.

Fortnite Events seems to be a pro when it comes to creating unexpected methods to grinding this season. In addition to figuring out a way to get Gold Bars fast, the YouTuber has figured out a way to level up Fortnite's battle pass fast as well. The gist of his method for that comes down to blowing up a bunch of stuff in a Saucer a.k.a. UFO, the game's latest vehicle.

Players using this approach should be swimming in Gold Bars in no time. Considering upgrade benches have returned to the game, it may be a good idea for players, in the long run, to invest some time into trying this method.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
