World War Z: Aftermath Expansion Brings More Zombie Slaying Mayhem

IGN Expo unveils first-look at World War Z: Aftermath, an enhancement upgrade that includes new combat mechanics, characters, maps, and more.

Saber Interactive's third-person action-shooter, World War Z, was first announced in 2019 and released later the same year. Now, Saber has made an announcement during this weekend's IGN Expo which reveals a first look at a new enhancement upgrade coming to World War Z.

World War Z has announced Aftermath, an expansion that is set to introduce new characters and mechanics alongside a general enhancement upgrade. World War Z: Aftermath will feature upgraded gameplay on next-generation systems with 4k 60ps, but the upgrade also adds many new features into the game. World War Z: Aftermath will reportedly feature a new melee combat system, a first-person-perspective mode, and cross-play across consoles and PC.

New maps are also available in World War Z: Aftermath, including Rome, Vatican City, and Russia's Kamchatka peninsula. Players can experience World War Z: Aftermath in solo games, multiplayer with three others, or AI-based matchmaking. World War Z: Aftermath is set to release this year, so fans may not have to wait too long to get their hands on the game's newest expansion update.

World War Z: Aftermath is currently slated to release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
