Leading up to E3 weekend is IGN Expo and among the developers unveiling their projects are Wired Productions and LKA who officially showed off a new trailer for Martha is Dead.

The new trailer for Martha is Dead showed off during the IGN Expo told the story of The White Lady who wanders restlessly around a lake. The story is told from a mother to a daughter named Julia and it includes several pop-up sections alongside eerie depictions of the characters in the story. The trailer also features the creepy puppets that have been included in previous Martha is Dead trailers.

The White Lady was once a girl who drowned in the lake and now she seeks other young girls to drag into the lake. The White Lady was drowned by a former lover who was hanged in the middle of the same lake for his crimes. The body of The White Lady has never been found, but the mother telling Julia the story seems familiar with the pain she endured. This spirit haunts a lake in Marth is Dead and can be summoned through a dark ritual using tarot cards on an island in the lake.

Most of the official trailer for Martha is Dead that was shown off during the IGN Expo focuses on The White Lady and the lake that she inhabits, but a brief portion of the trailer focuses on mysterious tarot cards. The playable character of Martha is Dead set a blue and white shirt, presumably that of The White Lady's former lover, down on the ground near a beach on the lake island. Upon flipping over a tarot card featuring the image of a hanging woman, The White Lady appears from the lake and reaches upwards to snag anyone nearby and drag them to the depths of the lake.

IGN Expo is just one of several events planned for this Summer, with E3 beginning on June 12. E3 will also bring with it several announcements and new trailers this weekend, giving gamers multiple events to tune into and celebrate. Martha is Dead doesn't have an official release date, but it looks like a particularly scary game for horror enthusiasts to look out for later this year. IGN's Summer of Gaming from last year was coined as a mini-E3 and the IGN Expo came prepared with reveals this year as well.

Martha is Dead releases later this year for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
