With Ubisoft's E3 presentation now less than a day away, Far Cry fans shouldn't have to wait too much longer to find out more about the series' upcoming sixth entry. There's already plenty of information about Far Cry 6 floating around, but many expect Ubisoft to delve much deeper into the game during its E3 event. Despite the publisher's best efforts, however, it seems as though some of the information earmarked for the occasion has leaked early in the form of a YouTube ad for the Far Cry 6 Season Pass.
The advert first started popping up for YouTube users in Russia, with a few people posting about it on Reddit and Twitter. It was eventually downloaded and shared online, allowing Far Cry fans to get a better look at exactly what's in store. The trailer shows Vaas, Pagan Min and Joseph, all but confirming that the villains will be making a return in Far Cry 6's DLC. That's far from the biggest talking point, though.

Emblazoned upon the screen at certain points during the trailer are the words "You Are.." together with each villain's name, suggesting that fans won't be fighting against the trio this time around, but instead fighting as them. As such, it seems as though Ubisoft is taking a similar approach with Far Cry 6's DLC as it did with the DLC for Far Cry 5, which served as an anthology of sorts rather than being connected directly to the game's main story.
Why exactly the advert was only shown in certain regions remains unclear, although some are speculating that it has something to do with time zones. With Ubisoft's Forward event set to take place at E3 on Saturday, it may well be that the ad went live early in countries where it's already the 12th some 12 hours ahead of schedule. Regardless of how it happened though, there can be no doubting the trailer's authenticity.
Though the prospect of being able to play as Far Cry's most iconic villains may come as a surprise to some, rumors of playable villains in Far Cry 6's DLC have actually been floating around for quite a while now. Redditor JohnWickPrick first posted about it at the beginning of January, mentioned all three villains shown in the trailer and suggesting that they would be playable in the game's DLC.
It's unlikely that there'll be an official release of the trailer until after the Ubisoft Forward presentation on Saturday, although the Ubisoft Canada Facebook page did recently post an image of Vaas, Joseph and Pagan Min. The accompanying caption asks fans to leave a comment to share their favorite villains, with most respondents opting for Vaas. That they'll soon be given a chance to control the iconic antagonist should therefore come as a welcome surprise for longtime fans of the series.
Far Cry 6 launches October 7, on Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
